So here it is Merry Christmas – Yes it’s that time of year again! So here I am popping in to wish you all the very best for the festive season!

What do you wish for this Christmas? Make a Christmas wish and then make it come true – just believe in yourself. Anything is possible just as long as you believe, set your own limits, don’t let anyone set them for you.

I have to admit that my Christmas tree was up extra early this year, even before my birthday! I was so busy with other things, I thought I had better get it done while I had the time. My guilty pleasure at this time of year is Christmas movies – the cheesier the better!

Talking of guilty pleasures – there are some in the new book! Here are a few excerpts from the book for you to get an idea of what it is like. Just a reminder that my new book is available and makes an ideal Christmas gift!

“I travelled to Las Vegas with my husband and friends. This is where I met my teen heartthrob - none other than the amazing Donny Osmond - who is the nicest celebrity you will ever meet. I also met old friends there and made new ones!” Although Donny is one of my guilty pleasures this isn’t me!

“Grandchildren - they ease your aches and pains, in fact any ailments disappear just as soon as you see them! The love for a grandchild is really like no other love, I cannot begin to put it into words but if you have them then you know. The time you get to share with them is so special and perhaps that is because we are aware of how fast time passes and are unencumbered of the responsibilities we had when our own children were growing up.

My happiest times are spent with my grandchildren, they make my heart sing and are my greatest pleasure!” Again, this could be me but it isn’t me either!

Some advice from the book too, I know that I am guilty of not taking my own advice at times but here are a few, maybe some cliché but do we take notice of them as much as we should?

“Don’t sweat the small stuff!”

“Don’t prioritise work over family. Work will replace you in a nano second, but to your family, you’re irreplaceable!”

“Step out of your comfort zone every so often!”

“Love your age at every stage. Growing old is a privilege so often denied to many!”

To finish off, here is a poem you might like, that is also from the book.

The Chapters of Life

Early twenties, young, free and single

Mid-twenties, married, moved, life’s a jingle

Thirties, babies, children, life is fast

Forties are calm, life is a blast

Fifties, middle aged, parents need to be cared for

Feel their loss like nothing before.

Late Fifties are scary, next decade approaching

Time for reflection and bit of life coaching

Bang it’s here, sixty years old

Not sure if I’m happy or need to be consoled

Accepting life’s fate is not an option

The wrinkles, high blood pressure are all new concoctions

Intertwined with a number of positive factors.

I’m turning the leaf to start a new chapter

Workdays are numbered, I’ll soon be unencumbered

Free to travel, watch TV or just lie in bed

Go out, exercise or make homemade bread

I plan to enjoy and live life to the full

Before the next decade starts making a pull.
